Dead animals
You can report dead animals on public land, including foxes, badgers, deer, cats and dogs.
We remove dead animals including foxes, badgers, deer, cats and dogs from:
- public roads and pavements in Elmbridge
- council properties
- Elmbridge parks
We don't remove them from private property.
How to report
Fill in the online form to report a dead animal.
After you make a report
After you report a dead animal, it will be removed by the next working day.
Dead animal carcasses are disposed of quickly for health and hygiene reasons.
Private property
We don't remove dead animals, birds or pets from private property. This is the responsibility of the property owner.
Dead animals on private property
Small animals (like squirrels, rats, mice and birds):
Double bag them using carrier bags or black bin liners and place them in your household rubbish bin.
Large animals (like foxes):
Double bag them and take them to your local recycling centre.
Don't handle dead animals with bare hands to avoid putting your health at risk.
Dead wild birds on private property
Small numbers:
You can bury them in your garden or double bag and place them in your household rubbish bin or take to your local recycling centre.
Large numbers:
Report them so avian flu can be monitored.

Pets
We don’t offer a service to remove dead pets from your home or property.
