Street name signs for private and unadopted roads
Private landowners are responsible for maintaining street name signs for private or unadopted roads and paying for replacement signs.
You can purchase signs from us or independently.
Specification for street name signs
Replacement signs should be designed to the Elmbridge specification. For an additional cost, they can include additional text such as ‘Private Road’. Please email us at gis@elmbridge.gov.uk to get a copy of the Elmbridge specification.
Order a new street name sign
You can choose to make a batch order or fast track order:
- batch order - place an order as part of the batch so owners benefit from discounted installation fees (installation can take up to 6 months)
- fast track order - place a priority order at an additional cost
