Hate crimes are any crimes that are targeted at a person because of hostility or prejudice towards someone's:
- disability
- race or ethnicity
- religion or belief
- sexual orientation
- transgender identity
Report hate crime
If you or someone else has been affected by a hate crime, report it. Reporting helps protect others and gives the police a clearer picture of what’s happening locally.
You can report in confidence:
- through True Vision: Report a hate crime, the third party reporting system
- by calling Surrey Police on 101, or in an emergency dial 999
- by calling CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
- by contacting British Muslim Trust, a charity supporting victims of anti-Muslim hate across the UK
