Hate crime

Find out more about hate crime and how to report it.

Hate crimes are any crimes that are targeted at a person because of hostility or prejudice towards someone's:

  • disability
  • race or ethnicity
  • religion or belief
  • sexual orientation
  • transgender identity

Report hate crime

If you or someone else has been affected by a hate crime, report it. Reporting helps protect others and gives the police a clearer picture of what’s happening locally.

You can report in confidence:

  • through True Vision: Report a hate crime, the third party reporting system
  • by calling Surrey Police on 101, or in an emergency dial 999
  • by calling CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
