ModGov accessibility statement

This accessibility statement applies to the council agendas, minutes and meetings website on the ModGov platform. 

This website is run by Elmbridge Borough Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

• change colours, contrast levels and fonts
• zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
• navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
• navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
• listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Disproportionate burden

We’ve assessed the cost and resources required to fix all our PDFs and to check every PDF before it is published. We believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. We will review this assessment each year.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

PDFs

Since October 2019, all report authors must use an accessible template to produce their PDFs.  All report authors are required to check their file for accessibility before they submit it for publication.
